Last Thursday was Thanksgiving in the USA. So we headed out for a weekend at a cabin in Big Bear. That is a small city upon the mountains, elevation 6,500 feet (~2000m), only 50 miles away from Redlands. Because of this elevation the climate is completely different. It's actually cold (10-15°C) during the day and freezing in the night. There were no snow because it's still Southern California and here never rains...ok, in the mountains more often than in the cities in the valleys.

That's the cabin.

That's the view from our patio.

On the first night we were only four people in the cabin, so we sat in the living room and played Yahtzee...so who knows what this is? You guys all know that game!! It's Kniffel!!!!!!

That was my bedroom. Yeah, it is so small as it appears. We called it Tina's closet because the door was like closet doors and because of the size.

On Thanksgiving Day I took a walk with Peter and Sofie at the lake.
Yeah, I'm looking weird, sorry for that. You see no bikini anymore...but winter jackets!!

The lake and on the mountain behind, there you can actually see a Skipiste! Yeah, it's a Ski area...but the ski season didn't start yet!

In the evening Thomas and Heinz (both from Austria) arrived at the cabin, hungry for Thanksgiving dinner.

Annie cooked the Thanksgiving Dinner with the assistance of Peter. This huge turkey was in the oven from 1PM to 7PM.

Thanksgiving dinner...Turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce.

The next day we went to the village and there was this shop. Funny, he?
I actually found there Bahlsen Contessa...I bought it...even it was $5!

That night we invented a game...drinking Darts!

Peter the Marlboro Man! Sofie had to drink a shot because of Drinking Darts!

OK, find the mistake!!! Gosh I had such a laughing flash...couldn't stop it.

We hit the Jacuzzi on our patio. That was nice...and because of the heat it was very comfortable even it was freezing.

The last night Heinz wanted to be a "real" American. He looked like the 4th of July, didn't he?
Then he showed as a new drinking dice game!! Much better than Meiern!!
Now I'm "home" again, I had a great looong weekend.
At the end of the week it will be Bergfest of my internship.
My project at ESRI is very interesting for me and I'm actually learning much stuff!! I'm pretty amazed of ESRI and my work here!!
By the way it's getting colder here...today it was only 20°C!!!
